At least 12 die in Bulgarian floods, several reported missing

epa04270689 European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response Kristalina Georgieva (C) visits the neighborhood of Asparuhovo after heavy floods hit the Black Sea city of Varna, Bulgaria, June 21, 2014. The eastern part of Bulgaria was hit by torrential rains and heavy floods in the late afternoon on June 19, 2014, leaving at least 11 people dead in the city of Varna and two people in the town of Dobrich. Lower sections of Varna were completely submerged and there is concern that more casualties are trapped in their homes. The floodwaters swept cars away and the work of rescue teams was hampered because of the drifting vehicles. EPA/STR
