State of emergency declared due to flooding in Serbia

A state of emergency has been declared in Serbia due to severe floods caused by rain falling for more than 48 hours. Serbia has been hit by a massive disaster, one of the severest floods in the recorded history of Europe. This serious hardship has affected many areas in Serbia where over one million people have been directly afflicted with huge material destruction.
